Is this the Google Super Bowl ad? (VIDEO)

At around 4 p.m. ET today, Chairman/CEO of Google Eric Schmidt tweeted a bombshell:

After weeks of hearing about controversial ads that were approved, controversial ads that were rejected and companies forgoing ads altogether, the search engine-monolith-that-could, has flown under the radar. In Friday’s USA Today’s list of Super Bowl advertisers, Google was nowhere to be found.

With less than 140 characters, the advertising and tech community became one this evening. Or, as George Costanza put so eloquently: my worlds were colliding

So if there will be a Google ad during the Super Bowl, which product will be highlighted? Their new phone, the Nexus One? How about their Chrome browser, whose audio commercial routinely interrupts my Pandora stream?

One blogger, John Battelle, claims to have discovered both the focus and commercial.

On November 19, Google introduced their “Search Stories” campaign, an online-only ad campaign that highlights all the groovy things Google search can do. One of those ads, entitled Parisian Love, is Battelle’s best guess as to what we will see in the 3rd Quarter (embedded below).

It’s been awhile since I’ve been this excited to watch an ad for the Super Bowl, and it only took until 24 hours prior to get there. Let’s hope Google didn’t take the easy way out and reuses an ad that has been watched over one million times.

So what do you think?
